Amenities & Accessibility
The Monticello Railway Museum is committed to welcoming all guests to our museum campus and on board our trains. Please find answers to some common general questions below. Parking
Parking is available directly next to both the Nelson Crossing and Wabash Depot museum locations . Several parking spaces are reserved for vehicles displaying a disabled persons placard.
Accessibility
Our train rides are wheelchair accessible. Lifts are available at both the Nelson Crossing and Wabash depot sites.
Restrooms
Restrooms are available at Nelson Crossing, Wabash Depot, and in the Wabash Center. Please be sure to use these restrooms before boarding your train ride. There are no restrooms available on the train during the regular weekend train rides and limited restrooms on board the train during the special event dinner trains.
Service Animals and Pets
Well behaved leashed pets are allowed throughout the museum grounds and in exhibit barns, but are not allowed on board the train or in the dining cars. Licensed service animals are allowed on board the trains based on the criteria below.
Monticello Railway Museum welcomes services animals to the museum complex. In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), “service animals must be harnessed, leashed, or tethered, unless these devices interfere with the service animal’s work or the individual’s disability prevents using these devices. In that case, the individual must maintain control of the animal through voice, signal, or other effective controls.”
